Steps to obtain the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy with Liberty Public Schools:

    1. Student attends Liberty High School or Liberty North High School and is in the 11th or 12th grade.
    2. Student has reviewed the criteria to obtain the MO Seal of Biliteracy:

    Standard Seal

      • An overall score of Intermediate 3 (I-3) or higher on the AAPPL test
      • A score of proficient on the English II EOC
        • (Note: ELs may substitute an overall 4.0 on the ACCESS test)
      • Completion and overall score of a 2 or 3 on a Sociocultural Competence Project  

    Distinguished Seal

      • An overall score of Advanced (A) on the AAPPL test
      • A score of proficient on the English II EOC
        • (Note: ELs may substitute an overall 4.7 on the ACCESS test)
      • Completion and overall score of a 2 or 3 on a Sociocultural Competence Project

    3. Student communicates with foreign language teacher or ELL teacher about taking the AAPPL test in his/her second language or his/her native language and schedules a testing appointment. (Languages offered: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Hindi, Italian, Japanese and Thai) All other languages not offered by the AAPPL will be assessed by using another form of assessment that will be determined by DESE and the LPS Seal of Biliteracy Coordinators.

    4. Upon receiving a passing score on the AAPPL test, the student will contact a Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator, foreign language teacher, or ELL teacher to discuss a plan of action for a sociocultural competence project.

    Note: Students will we awarded the MO Seal of Biliteracy during the second semester of their senior year
