Schedule Change Information

  • Students should carefully consider Future Plans and Goals when selecting courses during the Course Selection period offered at LHS. 


    Please keep in mind the following when requesting a schedule change: 

    • Schedule change requests are not guaranteed. Avoiding class overload and maintaining class balances are of primary importance. 

    • The following requests will not be approved:

      • Request to change teachers

      • Request to change FLEX period

      • Request to switch scheduled courses around to obtain a more preferred schedule


  • ALL GRADE LEVELS

    If you would like to make a schedule change request, please fill out the linked Schedule Change Request Form and submit it to the Counseling Office by the deadline provided. Requests made after these dates will be denied.  Please note: Students may take no more than 7 LHS classes per semester. If you wish to take additional credit outside of the school day, please refer HERE for more information.

    • SEMESTER 1 DEADLINE : AUGUST 28th 
    • SEMESTER 2 DEADLINE : JANUARY 9th

    DROPPING CLASSES AFTER SCHEDULE CHANGE DEADLINES
    Classes dropped after the semester schedule change deadlines will result in an "F" on your final transcript.  The only exception to this is Seniors changing to a Student Aide or Part Time status (which must be completed by the deadline on the form).

     

     


  • MSHSAA
    *Before making a change, read carefully: To participate in athletics or any other Missouri State High School Association activities (this includes all athletics, cheerleading, pom, academic competitions, Debate & Forensics, theater competitions and district or state music  contests – band or vocal): YOU MUST PASS SIX (6) CREDIT-EARNING CLASSES IN THE SEMESTER PRECEDING  COMPETITION AND BE ENROLLED IN SIX (6) CREDIT-EARNING CLASSES DURING THE SEMESTER OF  COMPETITION. Enrollment as a Part-Time Student including Teacher Aid and/or A+ courses may impact eligibility.

  • SENIORS ONLY

    1. PART TIME SCHEDULE REQUEST ‐ If a student of Senior standing is on track for graduation, they may choose to adjust their schedule to part time status. Before proceeding with a schedule change, please make sure you are aware of MSHSAA requirements. (See Below*)

    • SEMESTER 1 DEADLINE: OCTOBER 4th

    • SEMESTER 2 DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15th

     

    1. STUDENT AIDE REQUEST ‐ If a student of Senior standing is on track for graduation, they may choose to spend one hour per day assisting a teacher or the Counseling Office at LHS. Note: TA Courses DO NOT count as credit toward graduation. Before proceeding with a schedule change, please make sure you are aware of MSHSAA requirements. (See Below*)
