Some FAQ answers from Department of Elementary & Secondary Education : (DESE)
33. I received a summer benefit for one child and not the other child in the household?
The summer benefits started to process through the system on June 6, 2023. The distribution method of processing was staggered and approximately 60,000 benefits were processed from June 6 through June 12. Students who currently had a P-EBT card should have received the benefits on the same card. Students’ who did not have a P-EBT card can expect to receive the new card in the mail by mid-July.
34. My address has changed. How can I make changes to my child’s address?Address changes will need to be requested through DSS. The DESE/School District offices do not have a mechanism to modify cards. DESE does not distribute P-EBT cards. Our office will do our best to communicate changes to DSS. If your card was mailed and returned, these cards are being investigated as quickly as possible, by the DSS office, to identify an address.
32. When should I expect to get my child’s summer 2022 benefit card?
The student data that schools submitted to DESE has been collected and these summer benefits are currently processing. Students who received a P-EBT card during the school year, due to a COVID-related absence, will receive their summer benefit on the same card. Students who did not receive a P-EBT card during the school year, will be mailed a new card. Per DSS office, the cards will all be mailed out by mid-July. A card vendor is mailing the new cards. Summer benefits began processing on June 6. If our office received all the correct information from the school district, your child can expect to receive the summer
benefit soon. Our office is working through errors such as missing dates of birth and other missing information. Please be patient and if your child still has not received the summer benefit by mid-July, contact our office.Students with COVID related absences for 2021-2022 have been provided to the state as of 3/13/2023. Please see the letter below for details.
Distribution of funds is from Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS). Missouri has not identified how it will distribute EBT for summer 2023.
