Off Campus Programs
Liberty Public Schools Off-Campus Programming 2025-2026
Liberty Public Schools provides numerous Real World Learning options via Off-Campus Programming in Collaboration with non LPS School Districts, colleges, and community partners. These opportunities allow students to enhance their academic experiences and explore high-interest and high-demand careers both in and out of the classroom. Read more about each of our off-campus programs below. It is our goal to provide links directly to each program's primary website as well as their application process.
Dual Credit Course Information
Students have the opportunity to earn high school as well as college-level credit for the following courses offered at the high school. Students must meet all qualifications set by the college to receive Dual Credit.
Please Note:
- Students are responsible for making direct contact with all colleges for Dual Credit transfer questions, as our high schools cannot issue or request transcripts indicating college credit. Only the student can request their transcript from the college that issued the college-level credit.
- The Colleges/Universities retain the right to cancel the Dual Credit status of courses at one or both high schools at any time. Some courses listed as Dual Credit will be Dual Credit at one high school and not the other based on requirements set by the cooperating College/University and potential LPS staff changes.
- Students are strongly encouraged to take the ACT prior to the start of Dual Credit coursework, as this may be required for registration with the College/University.
- Students who sign up for Dual Credit must understand they are creating a permanent college record and grades earned in a Dual Credit course impact both their high school and college level GPA.
- There are other ways to earn college credit while in high school including: the Early College Academy, Collegiate Nursing Academy, and other off-campus programs delivered by other School Districts. Specific questions about college credits available through these programs should be directed to the program sponsors when a a student has been admitted to the program or during the application process.
- Students may also choose to take courses from an accredited College/University at their own expense (Part time college release). These courses can be transferred back to the high school for credit based on a formula used to calculate college credit hours into high school credits. Students should meet with their counselor to verify how any course they plan to take in this way for high school credit will transfer to LPS.
- A note about PLTW classes: PLTW courses may be used to attain college credit from numerous Colleges/Universities but does not follow the standard Dual Credit structure. Please note that LPS does not have a Memorandum of Understanding (agreement) with any College/University for these courses. Instead, each college sets its own requirements for granting PLTW credit and can change at any time effective immediately.
Tuition costs listed for each courses are approximate, subject to change at any time, and may not include other associated enrollment fees. Additionally, course numbers, course names, and credit hours for courses can change as well.
Tentative Dual Credit Courses
Advanced Placement Course information
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program of college-level courses and exams that give high school students the opportunity to receive college credit. Since AP courses and exams are generally junior or senior year experiences, parents and students anticipating college should plan early to take courses that prepare them for these courses. In order to take full advantage of AP opportunities, the appropriate prerequisite courses must be taken.
The AP exams corresponding to these courses are given in LPS on the national test dates in May. The approximate cost is between $100 and $150 depending on the exam. Each exam receives an overall grade on a five-point scale.
- 5 - Extremely well-qualified
- 4 - Well qualified
- 3 - Qualified
- 2 - Possibly qualified
- 1 - No recommendation
AP scores become available in the summer to students, high school administrators, and to the colleges requested by the students. Colleges determine the conferral of credit based on exam scores, this varies between colleges.

Weighted GPA Course List
Recently, LPS started providing a "Weighted GPA" for use by College/Universities. The following list of courses will earn "additional" GPA points towards this "Weighted GPA." This is being provided to students in the class of 2023 and beyond and is only provided for use by Colleges/Universities for admissions/scholarship decisions. Liberty Public Schools academic honors/awards/class ranks will remain based on "Unweighted GPA."
Please see the list of courses below and the amount of "added" GPA points a student would earn per 0.5 high school credit earned (note: a student receiving an F in a weighted class receives no added GPA points). Courses that that only earn 0.5 added GPA points are set that way due to those courses being designed to be taken for up to 2-periods per semester.
