Students in 11th grade in Liberty Public Schools are given the ACT during the spring semester. The ACT test is known as one of the nation’s most popular college entrance exam accepted and valued by universities and colleges across the United States. The ACT provides personalized information about their strengths for education and career planning. Students that complete the test recieve an ACT score (1 to 36) on each test (English, Math, Reading and Science) and a composite ACT score, which is an average of these four tests. The composite score falls between 1 and 36. ACT is an entrance exam used by many colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The weight placed on ACT scores varies from school to school. Besides the Liberty Public Schools district spring test date, the ACT is offered nationally every year in September, October, December, February, April and June. Beginning in 2018, the test will also be offered in July.
Students in 9th and 10th grade in Liberty Public Schools participate in PreACT testing at their local high school. PreACT simulates the ACT testing experience within a shorter test window on all four ACT test subjects: English, math, reading and science. Results predict future success on the ACT test, and provide both current achievement and projected future ACT test scores on the familiar 1-36 ACT score scale. To help all students achieve success, accommodations offered include locally assigned accommodations and available Braille, large print, reader script and audio.
