SEL Survey

Social-Emotional Learning is a key strategic focus for Liberty Public Schools as we strive to provide an excellent educational experience for all learners. In efforts to better understand student needs, our district partners with Panorama Education to hear from students about their experiences, beliefs, and attitudes in key social-emotional areas to assist educators in creating strategies for students to thrive.

Panorama Education partners with K-12 schools to collect and analyze data about social-emotional learning. With research-backed surveys and a leading technology platform, Panorama helps educators act on data and improve student outcomes. Panorama supports more than 15 million students in 25,000 schools, 2,000 districts, and 50 states. To learn more about Panorama Education, visit www.panoramaed.com.

Dear Families,

As you may already be aware, building social, emotional and motivational skills that help students succeed is an important goal for our school district. Over the coming weeks, students and teachers in Liberty Public Schools will participate in an online survey that encourages them to reflect on their own mindsets and approaches to learning.

Some of the topics covered in the survey will include:

  • Sense of Belonging

  • Growth Mindset

  • Self-Management

  • Social Awareness

  • School Safety

  • Engagement

  • School Climate

The district survey will be completed online at school. Further information will be provided to your student from their building administrator regarding how to complete the survey.

Liberty Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all students complete school not only with strong academic skills but also with the skills necessary to foster resiliency and prevent social, emotional, and behavioral problems that can impact success in various areas of a student’s life. Survey results will allow students, parents, teachers, principals, and district leaders to reflect on areas of success and areas of growth for our educational community.

Like other surveys your child has participated in during their time in Liberty Public Schools, you can elect to decline your student’s participation. This will not result in any negative consequences for your child or for your relationship with the school. Please contact your school and ask your buildings assistant principal to add your child’s name onto the online survey decline form.

It is our goal to help students and teachers learn more about themselves and how they learn best by completing this process. If you have questions about this process or if you’d like to learn more about how this survey helps meet your student(s) goals, please contact your building Principal.

Thank you for your ongoing support of your student(s) and of our school district.

Sincerely,

Christopher B. Hand
