Competency Based Learning

Liberty Public Schools is committed to equipping each learner with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for success in college, career, and the workplace. Our district-wide approach to Competency-Based Learning (CBL) incorporates key components that are essential for creating effective learning environments. These components include:

Empowerment Assessment Differentiation Progress Pathways Equity Competencies Real-World Learning

These elements ensure that our learning environments across the district are designed to maximize student potential and preparedness for future challenges. Below, we have defined each component of Liberty Public Schools' Competency-Based Learning approach, along with practices you would see our students and teachers engage with. Last, these components also support the elements of the Graduate Profile which have also been identified within each CBL component.

Through these components, Liberty Public Schools fosters an innovative, learner-centered environment that prepares learners for the complexities of the modern world.
