District Wellness Program
Research and experience shows that schools can be powerful places to make behavioral and environmental changes for students and staff. The primary goals of Liberty Public Schools District Wellness Program are to promote student health, reduce student overweight/obesity, facilitate student learning of lifelong healthy habits and increase student achievement.
Board Policy ADF and Board Procedure ADF-AP(1) guides the implementation of the District Wellness Program.
What is the purpose of the District Wellness Committee?
The purpose of the committee is to bring together representatives from the school and community who can help Liberty Public Schools address issues facing the health and well-being of our children, youth and adult staff. As a community member and/or parent, your input is particularly important and we would like to have you as a District Wellness Committee member. We understand that your time is valuable and we want you to know we are committed to establishing policies and programs that will positively affect the health of our students and school staff. Your responsibilities as a member of the District Wellness Committee would be to collaborate and provide input to the Wellness Program Coordinators for compliance and assessment of the District wellness policy goals and objectives.
