Curriculum and Instruction

Curriculum & Instruction header logo with photo of child at desk

At Liberty Public Schools, we believe learning is a constant across the LPS community. Students and adults initiate their learning experiences and contribute to the growth of those around them. Through learner agency, personalized and competency-based learning opportunities are accessible to all learners–across grade levels and content areas.

Our Curriculum Home Page is designed to provide parents, educators, and students with comprehensive information about our innovative and dynamic curriculum, which is tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students.

THRIVE Boards: Personalized Learning

Each student will select two or three ideas from the choice board to learn about on each THRIVE day. Students can use these ideas to learn online or from something they have at home, with or without a family member or friend, and inside or outside of their homes. The idea around this Personalized Learning Day is to encourage our students to act as agents of their own learning and engage in activities that further activate the lessons they have learned from school.

As stated, the design for our idea board below is centered on our Graduate Profile. This profile includes characteristics that we hope graduates of Liberty School District will have as they grow up and start college or work. It is our hope that, as students begin to explore and learn more about their strengths in these learner dispositions, they explore the idea board during their THRIVE day.
