Meet Mrs. Barnett

I was born in Gaithersburg, MD and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan.  I always loved sports and played Varsity Basketball and Volleyball through high school.  The one thing that I knew from an early age was that I wanted to work with children.  I had many babysitting jobs all through high school and loved being with the kids.  I also knew that I wanted to be a Mom.

While attending college to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Development, I worked as a Nanny for two school teachers, who were also sisters.  Again, I was in my glory working with their kids.  After school I married my husband, Matt, whom I had dated for the previous six years.  Three years into our marriage, my husband’s work relocated us just east of Cincinnati, OH where we resided for 3 short years.  We then relocated to Kansas City, MO where we immediately felt was our home away from home.  We have two sons, Reece who is nine and Evan who is six years old.  I have been a stay at home Mom until this year when I was given the opportunity to be a part of the awesome team at Lewis & Clark.  I have always loved getting into a good book and really love reading stories to my boys.  I now have the best of both worlds; spending my days in the library, surrounded by children.
