• GRADUATION 2024


     

     

    Commencement for the Class of 2023 is planned for May 12th, 2024 at 2:30pm. 

    Cable Dahmer Arena, 19100 E. Valley View Parkway, Independence, MO 64055

    Students enter at the south side of the building at Gate 2. Guests enter at the Main Entrance.

    Dress – Baccalaureate and Commencement are ceremonies that require special dress. Gowns should be hung in the bathroom while showering to steam out the wrinkles, or press with a cool iron. Students will not be allowed to decorate, write or display any written statements or symbols on caps, gowns or stoles. Caps should be worn straight with tassels on the right side. Men should wear dress shirts and ties, dress slacks (long pants – no jeans) and dress shoes (no tennis shoes or flip flops). Ladies should also wear dress shoes (although stiletto heels will not be allowed) and dresses that are not visible below the hem of their gown or dress shirt and slacks. Hairstyles must permit the proper fit of caps. Flowers or jewelry should not be worn on caps, gowns or stoles.

    Guests - TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY. Main doors will open at 9am. There is no reserved seating. Cable Dahmer has seating available for 8 handicap and 8 attendants on the lower level between section 106 and 107, and 27 handicap and 27 attendants on the upper level ( elevator located to the right of the main entrance.) Please see ushers for directions.

     

     

     

     

  • BACCALAUREATE CEREMONY

    May 9, 2024,  7:00pm 

     
    Seniors should arrive at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall on the lower level to line up.
    Students should be dressed in appropriate clothing with their cap and gown. No tennis shoes or flip flops.

  • CAP AND GOWN ORDERS and DISTRIBUTION


    Senior Class announcement premier for Jostens graduation announcements, cap/gown order information packets is planned for October 27, 2023. If you miss this senior class meeting, you can pick up the packet after that date in the main office.  Announcements/Cap/Gown orders will be taken during lunch on November 3, 2023;  November 10, 2023; November 30, 2023.  Announcement delivery days are March 7, 2024 and March 13, 2024 during lunch.  Cap/Gown delivery days are April 3, 2024 and  April 11, 2024 during lunch. 

  •  SENIORS' LAST DAY


     Last Day for Seniors – May 7, 2023 is the last day for seniors to attend classes. Dismissal time will be 3:15 pm. Seniors will be expected to have their lockers completely cleaned out (pictures, tape, writing, books etc). Any writing on lockers must be completely cleaned off by the end of the day or you will not be processed for graduation and you will be placed on the LNHS Debtor’s List. Items left in lockers are not considered “returned”.

  • PICTURES


    Senior Portraits – Reed Portrait Group will be taking senior cap and gown pictures in the LMC at Liberty North, July 24nd through 28th.  816.436.5550 for questions.

    Graduation Ceremony Pictures - Pictures of each of the graduates will be taken during the ceremony by professional photography service, Reed Portrait Group, 816.436-5550. The week after the ceremony, Liberty North will email a link to a website where you may download pictures for free.

  • LNHS OBLIGATION LIST


    Debts – Diplomas, transcripts and grade cards will be withheld from any student with a debt owed to the high school.  All debts must be paid prior to graduation, remuneration will not occur at the ceremony.  Paying the fee, returning the object or presenting receipt or note from the teacher/coach or sponsor regarding the debt to Mrs. Rigg or Mrs. Kinder will clear the obligation.  Fines may be paid in the Administration Office.  Objects left in lockers or in classrooms are not considered as “returned” and students will not be removed from the obligation list until the teacher/sponsor or coach confirms the return of the item to inventory.

     

    Technology information-

    • Graduating seniors will have access to their Google accounts (documents and email) through the end of the day on July 7th. After July 7th, the accounts will be deactivated.
    • Once the account is deactivated, any email forwarding that might have been setup will not work. Be sure to change your primary email address with any third party services that might have your school email account.
    • Download the folders/files to a thumb drive and/or download the files and then upload them to a cloud storage service such as DropBox or your personal Google Drive.
    • Utilize  Google Takeout to download a compressed folder of all your Google suite content that you can use as a backup. The content in the backup can then be imported back into a different account. For large accounts, this process can take some time to complete.

  • DIPLOMAS


    Graduates who do not intend to participate in commencement exercises and do not have outstanding debts may pick up their diplomas at North on or after the Monday after graduation. Graduates who participate in the ceremony and do not have outstanding debts will receive their diplomas in their packets at the Senior meeting.

  • TIPS FOR THE PERFECT GRADUATE:

     
     

    1. Your cap should be flat on top of your head.Tassel should be on the right and out of your face.No adornment is allowed on your cap or gown.It must be free of corsages, glitter and jewelry.

    2. Wear dress shoes.Avoid a trip, make certain your shoes are tied and ladies should watch heel height.

    3. Cell phones, cameras, IPods, car keys, purses, etc. need to be left with family.

    4. Do not chew gum.

    5. Please keep your name card in your possessio, you must present it to the announcer.If your name is difficult to pronounce please write your name phonetically on your card.

    6. Pause and smile at the person presenting your diploma, accept your diploma in your left hand and shake hands with your right hand.Once all graduates have received their diploma you will move your tassel from the right to the left as a class under Dr. Kurth's direction.
