This is not a new strategy, but one often forgotten. What’s great about this strategy is the flexibility in how it can be used. Use it for reading, vocabulary, review, student generated questions, creating task options, etc. This strategy brings in gamification and the rules can be adapted in many ways. I have found that it also reduces some anxiety in students because they are able to see the questions in advance, yet still there is the unknown as to which question they will have.
The hardest part of this activity could be getting enough dice for the class. But don’t let that be an excuse, here is a printable for creating your own dice.
