Welcome to Liberty Public Schools Nutrition Services

  • Liberty Public Schools is currently opperating under the Federal Seamless Summer Option (SSO)  during the school closure for COVID-19 shut down.  No Cost meals are available for all children through age 18.  Drive up meals are avaiable at Ridgeview Elementary, Alexander Doniphan, Warren Hills and  Liberty Oaks Elemntary.  CHildren do not need to be enrolled in Liberty Public Schools or in summer school to pick up a child meal.  Breakfast and Lunch will be provide when the meals are picked up.  The menu is availble at SchoolCafe.com/Libertyps.

Under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020, families that qualify for free or reduced price meals at school may be eligible for a new one-time Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) of up to $302 per child (Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 12) to help cover the cost of meals students have eaten at home on days that schools have been closed. Students can receive P-EBT benefits even if they have been or continue to receive meals provided by the school district during the school closure. If your child was not previously eligible for free or reduced price meals, but you have now lost income, you may be eligible to receive P-EBT benefits (review the P-EBT Eligibility Criteria document below).

The benefit is placed on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card families use to buy food. If you received Food Stamp (SNAP) benefits in March, do not apply for these new/additional benefits. The full $302 will automatically be loaded to your existing EBT card. If you did not receive Food Stamp (SNAP) benefits in March, you must apply for this benefit by June 30, 2020 (see link below)

  • Food For Thought- Donations for student meals

Want to make a difference for the students in the Liberty Public Schools community? Donate to the LPS Nutrition Services Lunch Fund! The LPS Nutrition Services team serve more than 8,000 meals a day. Many of our students’ parents struggle to pay for lunches, but may not qualify for free and reduced priced meals. As a district, we are committed to ensuring all of our students receive a nutritious lunch every day to help them stay healthy and focused on learning. Money donated to the LPS Lunch Fund will help pay off outstanding balances on students’ lunch accounts and allow Nutrition Services to continue to feed all students every day. If you would like to donate, please contact Susan St. Ama at susan.stama@lps53.org or at 816-736-5377. Thank you for your generous support of our students!
