• Who we are...

Liberty Public Schools utilizes a research-based, student-centered coaching model (Sweeney, 2013, 2010) to support teachers in designing learning experiences that are targeted, differentiated, and aligned with Missouri Learning Standards and Expectations to maximize student achievement.

    Student Centered Coaching

    Together, coaches and teachers:

    • Create success criteria based on the learning intentions
    • Utilize student evidence to plan instruction that meets the needs of all learners
    • Co-teach using innovative teaching practices

Because coaching is student focused and students have different needs, our coaching staff has diverse experiences in supporting students in their K-12 journeys. Partnering with a coach is a practice we encourage all teachers to explore. This collaborative experience is about building a teacher’s pedagogical prowess and is worthwhile whether teachers are in their first year of teaching, last year of teaching, or anywhere in between.

Specifically, our coaching team includes new teacher coaching to support our first and second year teachers in creating a classroom experience that is engaging and student-centered. Our Innovation & Learning Coaches support the critical foundational skills developed during the elementary grades, infusing both traditional and digital teaching strategies to meet the needs of our 21st Century learners through partnerships with teachers to improve student achievement.
