  • ORCHESTRA DESCRIPTIONS:

    Chamber Orchestra

    The Chamber Orchestra is traditionally a smaller orchestra. It is made up of dedicated string instrumentalist with exceptional rehearsal skills. Large ensemble performance is emphasized along with individual development in technique, style, and common practices of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary genres. Chamber Orchestra plays for a variety of functions as well as yearly contests and regularly scheduled performances. In 2015 the Liberty High School Chamber Orchestra won first place in the high school division at the ASTA National Competition. 

    Symphonic Orchestra

    This orchestra is for the dedicated string instrumentalist with exceptional rehearsal skills. Large ensemble performance is emphasized along with individual development in technique, style, and common practices of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary genres. Symphonic Orchestra plays for a variety of functions as well as yearly contests and regularly scheduled performances. 

    Concert Orchestra

    This orchestra is for all string instrumentalists who are working to improve their playing technique. Both large and small group performance is emphasized along with individual development in technique, style, and introductions to various genres of music. Concert Orchestra plays for a variety of functions as well as regularly scheduled performances.

    Freshman Orchestra

    This orchestra is for Freshman string instrumentalists who are working to improve their playing technique. Both large and small group performance is emphasized along with individual development in technique, style, and introductions to various genres of music. Freshman Orchestra plays for a variety of functions as well as regularly scheduled performances.
