    Parking Rules & Regulations

The fee for parking for the 2018-2019 school year is $60 for the year. All students who have been granted a parking space must have payment (cash or check only) when picking up their parking pass.

    ● Students must have a valid driver’s license and insurance upon picking up their pass.
    ● Students must have cleared all financial obligations by the time they pick up their parking pass.

All students who are granted the privilege to park must have their vehicle parked in a valid student parking space and display their assigned parking tag where it is clearly visible from the outside of the vehicle. Students are not allowed to park along curbs, on fire lanes, in faculty parking spaces, in visitor parking, LHS Senior Row spaces, or in reserved spaces unless instructed to do so. Violators are subject to ticketing, parking boot placement, towing, and/or possible loss of parking privileges. City of Liberty tickets may be issued for city ordinance violations including, but not limited to, parking in handicap areas and fire lanes.

    Driving a Non-Registered Vehicle:

Students must park in a valid student parking spot and obtain a temporary parking permit from Mr. John Neldon in the Attendance Office if they are not able to drive their registered vehicle. This temporary pass must be taped to the inside lower front driver’s window where it is easily visible from the exterior. A ticket, boot, or tow (as deemed appropriate by the school administration) may occur if this procedure is not followed.

A ticket, parking boot, or tow (as deemed appropriate by the school administration) may occur for any violation; however, the following guidelines will be used in most circumstances. The first violation is a $10.00 ticket. The second violation is a $25.00 ticket. The third violation is a $50.00 ticket and a boot will be placed on the vehicle. The fourth violation is a $25.00 ticket and the towing of the vehicle.  Any towing fees are based upon tow company rates and will be paid by the vehicle owner. Persistent offenders surpassing these violations may lose parking privileges for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year, may face disciplinary consequences, and/or may lose the ability to park during the 2019-2020 school year.

    Loss of Privilege:

Inappropriate student conduct may result in loss of student parking privileges.  Conduct is defined by the standards stipulated within the LHS student handbook including, but are not limited to, tardies, poor attendance, discipline infractions, and insubordination.

    Consent to Search:

By executing this Parking Permit Application I/we hereby consent to the search, by school officials or law enforcement, of any vehicle I/we park on school premises. I/we will open the vehicle to search upon demand by the school officials or law enforcement. Refusal to allow a search of the vehicle while parked on school premises will result in the revocation of any parking permit issued pursuant to this application.

    Non-Refund Policy:

If a student loses the privilege to park on campus during the year, he/she is not eligible for a refund of parking fees.

Please Note: Students attending either the Excelsior Springs Area Career Center or the Platte County Northland Career Center are not permitted to drive to this location without prior approval from a parent/guardian and an administrator. If permission is granted to drive, students are not allowed to transport other students to or from the career center.
