The Writing Studio at Liberty High School is a supportive and comfortable space for students to collaborate on the writing process with the guidance of English teachers and/or strong student writers. The Writing Studio is available to assist with any stage of the writing process from brainstorming to final revisions. Students can access help on a variety of writing assignments, everything from research papers to scholarship essays to job applications. We can provide guidance on writing for any subject area.
Who can access the Writing Studio?
The Writing Studio services are available to students of all levels. Our goal is to help all LHS students become stronger writers and communicators. All writers need someone to read their work and offer feedback. The Writing Studio offers this option in a 1-on-1 or small group environment.
Where is the Writing Studio?
The Writing Studio is located in the 600s flex space conference room.
What do I bring to the Writing Studio?
To make the most of your Writing Studio experience, bring the following items:
- Signed pass from your teacher
- Writing assignment and rubric
- Your writing piece (on paper or on computer)
- A willingness to identify areas to improve your writing; the Writing Studio teacher can help you identify a goal to improve your writing
What can I expect?
The Writing Studio teacher will ask you to submit or complete a “What I Need” form. This will guide your writing conversation and focused feedback. The teacher will provide advice and then allow you to independently improve your writing.
Allow time to consult and ensure you achieve your writing goals before your paper is due; you may need more than one writing conference to reach your goals.
