All 9 LPS National Merit Semifinalists Named Finalists
An unprecedented nine Liberty Public Schools students have been named National Merit Finalists for 2025.
Every Liberty High School and Liberty North High School senior named a Semifinalist moved on to become a finalist.
National Merit is a highly competitive academic competition that students qualify for by taking the PSAT/NMSQT test during their junior hear of high school.
Over 1.3 million students participate in the qualifying test. Of those, 50,000 high scorers are selected for recognition. Only 15,000 of those move on to become finalists. These students will receive Certificates of Merit to celebrate the honor.
The nine students will now have the opportunity to become scholarship winners. Even without a final scholarship, the Finalist designation opens many doors to post-secondary education institutes and funding.
