Filing for Candidacy – Liberty Board of Education
A board candidate workshop will be held for any person interested in filing for candidacy and running for a position on the Liberty 53 School District Board of Education. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 beginning at 5:15 p.m. in Room 410 at the Liberty School District Administration Center located at 8 Victory Lane, Liberty, Missouri.
The Liberty 53 School District will accept declaration of candidacy from any person interested in running for a position on the District Board of Education in the April 7, 2026 Election. Persons interested may file at the Liberty School District Administration Center, located at 8 Victory Lane, Liberty, Missouri. There are three positions available with three-
year terms.
Filing will begin on December 9, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. and will continue during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Candidates should enter the building through the east entrance doors. Filing will not occur on days when the District Administration Center office is closed due to inclement weather or other health-related reasons. Filing will not occur on the following holidays: December 24, 2025 and December 25, 2025. Filing will end on December 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.

Something we plan to continue for the 2025-2026 school year is that LPS will treat the first two inclement weather days as traditional snow days, meaning there will be no in-person OR virtual classes on these days.

Dr. Robert Fisher, school counselor at Manor Hill Elementary and LPS District School Counseling Coordinator, was named Director of the year by the Missouri School Counselor Association (MSCA).

Dr. M. Jeremy Tucker, superintendent of Liberty Public Schools, announced Wednesday, October 22, 2025, his plans to retire at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year, after serving the past 12 years as our superintendent.
