Eagles' Chatlos Named MSHSAA Coach of the Year
Liberty North High School coach David Chatlos was named the 2025-2026 Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Cross Country Coach of the Year.
MSHSAA chooses one coach from each sport each year that is going above and beyond to receive the honor.
Chatlos has been coaching the Liberty North cross country team since the school's opening.
The boys team secured the state championship in the 2025-2026 season with several individual medalists.
The LNHS staff planned to surprise Chatlos with the news of Coach of the Year at a pep rally on Friday, August 28, 2026. He believed they were recognizing state champions, but a MSHSAA representative came out with the award.
Chatlos was met with massive applause and cheers from the Liberty North student body. His family was also in attendance for the surprise.

Liberty North High School broadcast and newspaper adviser Jennifer Higgins was recognized as the Journalism Education Association's (JEA) 2026 Special Recognition Broadcast Adviser.
