Liberty's Frigon Selected as KC Chiefs Coach of the Year
Liberty High School Head Football Coach Chad Frigon is the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs/Eric Driskell Coach of the Year.
Frigon was surprised with the award during the Simone Awards, which Liberty High School got to host on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
Members of the Kansas City Chiefs presented the coveted coaching award with hundreds of people from around the Kansas City Metro area watching.
Frigon has been a part of Liberty Public Schools for 30 years.
This year, he led his Blue Jays to the state semi final game, where they lost to De Smet Jesuit High School. It was the team's first final four appearance since 1997.
Earlier in the season, Frigon was presented with the Coach of the Week award by the Kansas City Chiefs.
He was very surprised to be given the elevated honor with family and friends in attendance.

Several Liberty Public Schools students are being recognized for their fine arts talents. Dozens of students will be representing the district as members of the All-State Band, Orchestra, Choir, Children's Choir and All-State Theater performance.
Incumbents Karen Rogers and Dan Currence were the only individuals to apply, meaning that with two positions available, there will not be a need for an election in April.
The Ayrie yearbook from Liberty North High School is one of only 35 yearbooks from across the entire U.S. to receive the award.
