LPS Board Makes 2 Admin Appointments

Dr. Courtney Dickerson Named New Discovery Middle School Principal

At its meeting on Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026, the LPS Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Courtney Dickerson as the next principal of Discovery Middle School.

Dr. Dickerson is a familiar and respected leader within the Discovery Middle School community, having served as assistant principal since 2013. She began her administrative career in 2012 as an assistant principal at South Valley Junior High. Her career in LPS spans 24 years, beginning in 2002 as an English Language Arts and Journalism teacher.

“I’m honored to serve as the next principal of Discovery Middle School,” said Dr. Dickerson. “It has been a privilege to work alongside our dedicated staff, incredible students, and supportive families during my time at DMS. I take great pride in the work we do together and look forward to building on the strong foundation we have created.”

Dr. Dickerson holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, a Master of Education from Park University, an Education Specialist degree from Northwest Missouri State University, and a Doctor of Education from William Woods University.

“Dr. Dickerson is a dedicated and respected leader whose deep roots at DMS, as both a teacher and assistant principal, have allowed her to build strong relationships and a clear vision for student success,” said Dr. Julie Moore, LPS Assistant Superintendent for Innovation and Learning. “Her commitment to excellence and unwavering focus on what’s best for students make her an outstanding choice to lead DMS into the future.”

Dr. Dickerson will succeed current principal Dr. Greg Mees, who was recently named Director of Human Resources for Certified Staff. She will officially begin her role as principal on July 1, 2026.

Mr. Chad Brinkmeyer Named LNHS Assistant Principal

At the Board of Education meeting held Tuesday morning, May 5, 2026, the Board approved the appointment of Mr. Chad Brinkmeyer as an assistant principal at Liberty North High School.

Mr. Brinkmeyer has been a member of the LPS family since 2013, serving in various capacities at both Liberty High School and the Liberty Academy. Most recently, he has been a member of the Liberty Academy teaching staff while also serving as a women’s soccer coach at Liberty North High School.

“Mr. Brinkmeyer brings a passion for students and a relational leadership style,” said LPS Assistant Superintendent for Innovation and Learning, Dr. Julie Moore. “He is deeply committed to supporting both students and staff, and we are excited to see him continue that work as an assistant principal at Liberty North.”

Mr. Brinkmeyer holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia, an Educational Specialist degree from Arkansas State University, and is currently in the process of obtaining his doctorate from William Woods University.

Mr. Brinkmeyer will officially begin his new role on July 1, 2026. He replaces Dr. Lee Allen, who announced his resignation earlier this spring and will be relocating to Texas at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year.
