LPS Director of Health Services Announces Retirement
At the Tuesday evening, September 17, 2024, Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted the retirement for our longtime Director of Health Services Kathy Ellermeier, effective June 30, 2025. Ms. Ellermeier has provided tremendous leadership in her department in LPS for the past 19 years.
Her work began 2006 where she founded the Health Services Department of 18 members that has grown with the District to its 43 members today. She has also been a leader in the health services field over these years, including serving on William Jewell's Nursing Advisory Board, the Children's Mercy Hospital School Advisory Council and elected to the Clay County Public Health Center Board since 2007.
Ms. Ellermeier has always brought with her a wealth of knowledge, along with an incredibly positive attitude toward her daily work. We wish Kathy nothing but the best as she transitions to retirement next summer. In the meantime, the search for her replacement will begin soon, with a candidate expected to be named later this fall.
