LPS Recognized at Annual Blue Star Awards
Starlight’s annual Blue Star Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students.
This year LPS earned a combined 27 nominations between Liberty High School's production of The Addams Family and Liberty North High School's production of The Wizard of Oz.
The annual Awards Ceremony was celebrated on Thursday night, May 16, 2024, at Starlight Theatre featuring 276 nominations across 58 area schools.
LPS Blue Star winners include:
- LHS - Outstanding Hair and Makeup Design
- LHS - Outstanding Costume Design
- LHS - Technical Contribution Award - Samantha Taylor, Hair and Makeup Design
- Outstanding Performer in a Featured Role - Londyn Witherspoon as Ancestor (LHS)
- LHS - Outstanding Ensemble

Kayla Nelson will perform with the Northland Symphony Orchestra in their concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at North Kansas City High School. Natalie Coleman and Gillian calder will also be recognized at the concert.
Liberty High School will induct its 2024 Hall of Fame class at the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 4, 2024. The class includes five outstanding alumni who continue to have an impact on the Liberty community.
