LPS Staff Recognized at Excellence in Education Banquet

Liberty Public Schools had an incredible night at the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Education banquet held at the KCI Expo Center on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

The district nominated seven employees in each the teaching and service to education categories, and came away with several winners.

Miranda Miles from EPiC Elementary, Bailey Turley from Alexander Doniphan Elementary and Katie Fisher from Liberty North High School won awards in the teaching category.

Amber Becerra from Liberty Middle School and Melissa Whitmore from Manor Hill Elementary won awards in the service to education category.

Also nominated and recognized at the banquet in the teaching category were Jaimie Robeson from Heritage Middle School, Carrie Epperson from Liberty Middle School, Bridget French from Manor Hill Elementary and Caitlin Turpin from Liberty High School.

Nominated and recognized as well in the service category were Beth Cunningham from Alexander Doniphan Elementary, Traci Fleming from Heritage Middle School, Tiffany Boulter from EPiC Elementary, Nakia Wilson from Liberty North High School and Cheryl Heuszel from Liberty High School.

To cap off a fantastic night, LPS also had seven seniors awarded scholarships by local businesses. Only 27 scholarships were offered across all Northland school districts. 

Congratulations to scholarship recipients Macey Magera, Chloe Jump, Samantha Milano, Sadaf Nezami, Ella Anderson and Aly True of Liberty High School, and to Saanvi Rao of Liberty North High School.

Liberty Public Schools would like to recognize and thank our 2026 class of retiring staff members. With 60 staff members headed on to their next adventure at the end of this school year, there's a lot to celebrate!
