LPS Students Place in Statewide Original Music Contest
Two LPS Fine Arts students placed in the 2025 statewide Creating Original Music Project (COMP) contest through the University of Missouri.
LNHS 9th grader Mason Pieterick's "Apparitions of an Oasis" placed 3rd in the High School Notated Music category.
Lillian Schumacher Elementary 5th grader Alouisa Marcantonio's "Hey, Sunshine!" placed 2nd in the Elementary Songs with Words category.
COMP is a statewide competition that recognizes Missouri students (K-12) who compose original works in a variety of musical styles. Winning composers and their schools will be awarded cash prizes and performances at the University of Missouri.
LPS student composers will have the opportunity to perform their original pieces at this year's COMP festival, which will take place Saturday, April 19, 2025.
