LPS to Host Info Night on Fentanyl Overdose Awareness
Libetry Public Schools will host a parent information night on fentanyl overdose awareness on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 6-7 p.m. at the Heritage Middle School Auditorium.
The event is a collaboration between LPS Health Services and the LPS middle school administrative team to make sure parents are aware of the drug dangers facing their students.
Members of the Clay County Sheriff's Department who have worked in undercover situations will share real-world examples of what is happening with drugs in our community. That includes current trends, drug overdose information and information on the drugs fentanyl and xylazine.
Presenters from Beacon Health will also provide information for parents on what to look for, conversations to have with students and will be on hand to answer questions.
Parents will also get a look at the LPS Emergency Response steps in case of drug overdose and learn about Narcan availability within the district.
