Redmond Named Next Director of Health Services
At the regular Liberty Public Schools Board of Education meeting held Tuesday evening, November 19, 2024, the Board appointed Ms. Kristin Redmond to be the next LPS Director of Health Services. Ms. Redmond will succeed longtime Director of Health Services, Kathy Ellermeier, who announced earlier this fall that she will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2024-2025 school year.
Ms. Redmond has been a registered nurse for thirty-one years, with seventeen of those years spent serving in Liberty Public Schools as a school nurse. She is currently serving in the role as assistant director of health services in LPS, a position she has held for the past four years.
"We are excited to have someone with the knowledge and talents of Ms. Redmond to lead our health services team," said LPS Chief Operations Officer Steve Anderson. "Kris has built so many relationships throughout the district during her nearly two decades of service, and we are confident that she will provide her department with a seamless transition. I also cannot thank Kathy Ellermeier enough for her dedicated service to not only the health services department, but Liberty Public Schools. We will look forward to celebrating her in the spring, as she concludes her service to our district, and will wish her nothing but the best."
Ms. Redmond has been a Liberty resident for over twenty years. She and her husband, Russ, have two sons, Jackson and Jon, who are both graduates of Liberty Public Schools.
"I am passionate about being an advocate for students and promoting the health and safety of those in my community," said Redmond. "I look forward to building upon all of the great things happening within our health services team, and can't wait to officially get started in this new role next summer."
