Success Ready Students Network and APR Score

Success Ready Students Network and APR Score

What LPS Stakeholders Need to Know

As shared in recent months, Liberty Public Schools is proud to announce its participation in the Success Ready Students Network (SRSN), an initiative designed to create a more meaningful measure of student success, beyond traditional standardized testing. LPS is one of 20 districts in Missouri granted an innovation waiver from the Missouri State Board of Education to pilot new, more personalized approaches to student achievement.

As part of this innovative program, Liberty Public Schools has published a SRSN Dashboard as an alternative to the state's Annual Performance Report (APR) score. The APR, while still required by law, does not reflect the full scope of student growth or success. The new measures, powered by real-time data, go beyond standardized tests to include multiple indicators of individual student progress and future readiness.

“We believe that measuring student success must be about more than just test scores. Every student is unique, and we need to assess their growth in a way that reflects their personal learning journey,” said LPS Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker. “Through the Success Ready Students Network, we are taking a more holistic approach to student success, focusing on what students need to be truly ready for high school, college, careers, and life beyond school.”

A Focus on Real-World Skills and Growth

Liberty Public Schools’ participation in the Success Ready Students Network is designed to hold the district accountable for a broader range of student outcomes, including:

  • Real-time growth data for each student multiple times throughout the school year, allowing for timely interventions and adjustments.
  • Indicators of college, career, and workforce readiness, ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed after graduation.
  • Personalized learning experiences that reflect the real-world skills students need to thrive in today’s economy.
  • Workplace learning opportunities, including internships and partnerships with local businesses to develop marketable skills.
  • Transparent data access for students, parents, teachers, and the community, offering a clear view of student progress and areas for improvement.

A Collaborative Effort to Reshape Student Success

The Success Ready Students Network initiative is supported by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and is backed by educational leaders and organizations across the state. In addition to the 20 districts participating, the network includes collaborations with the Missouri School Board Association, the Missouri Association of School Administrators, Education Plus, and various regional school districts.

A Pathway to Future Success

Liberty Public Schools’ involvement in the Success Ready Students Network is part of a broader movement to help shape the future of student success metrics in Missouri. The data collected through this initiative will help inform the next iteration of the Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP) and guide the development of future statewide policies.

“We are proud to be part of this initiative and excited for the impact it will have on our students and community,” said Tucker. “Our ultimate goal is to provide every student with the tools and experiences they need to succeed and thrive in whatever path they choose after graduation.”
