LPS Staff Honored at 35th Excellence in Education Banquet
It was a special evening on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, as the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted their 35th Annual Excellence in Education Banquet, hosted virtually for a second consecutive year. LPS was well-represented as part of the awards program with several nominees recognized for their commitment to education.
One of the highlights of the evening was when Liberty Middle School Nurse, Kathy Wright, was named to the Exemplary Service Award. Nurse Wright has played a vital role at LMS this year, not only serving students, staff, and families while in the midst of a pandemic, but also provided heroic assistance to a student in need of serious medical attention earlier this semester.
Below is a complete listing of LPS recipients selected:
Business in Support of Education - Carstar Wicklund's Liberty
Volunteer in Support of Education - Rhonda Torno
Scholarship Recipients: Rachel Kim and Davis Fulk (Liberty North High School; Trenton O'Bannon and Paige Hodges (Liberty High School)
Excellence in Service to Education - Dwayne Irvin (Lewis and Clark Elementary), and Bridget Lester (Alexander Doniphan Elementary)
Excellence in Classroom Teaching - Emily Callahan (Lillian Schumacher Elementary), Lisa Augustine (Liberty Academy), Cynthia Biermann (Liberty High School), and Miranda Miles (EPiC Elementary).
