Dr. Sarah Marriott Named LPS Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources
At the Tuesday evening, January 17, 2023, Liberty Public Schools Board of Education meeting, the Board appointed Dr. Sarah Marriott to be the next LPS Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, effective July 1, 2023.
Dr. Marriott comes to LPS from the Boonville (MO) R-1 School District, where she is currently the Superintendent of Schools, a position she has held since 2018. She returned to her hometown of Boonville in 2015 to serve as Director of Special Education. Prior to her tenure in Boonville, she served as an elementary and middle school principal in the Slater (MO) School District from 2010 - 2015. She began her career as a speech pathologist in Lathrop, Missouri in 2000.
"Liberty Public Schools presents such a great opportunity for professional growth," said Dr. Marriott. "Through my varied professional experiences, I hope to share information learned along the way, while also learning from those around me. This will be a great adventure!"
Dr. Marriott received her Education Specialist Certificate from the University of Missouri - Columbia, along with her MHS in Health Related Professions, and BHS in Health Science. She most recently obtained her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Administration from Saint Louis University in 2013.
"We are excited to have Dr. Marriott join our LPS leadership team," said LPS Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker. "It was an extremely competitive pool of candidates, and we are confident that Dr. Marriott will provide the quality leadership necessary for our Department of Human Resources and Liberty Public Schools."
Dr. Marriott will complete her service as superintendent of the Boonville School District through the 2022-2023 school year, and then transition to her new role in LPS on July 1, 2023. As was shared last week, Dr. Deborah Delsomme will serve as LPS Interim Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year.
