Transportation Opt-in Requirement for All LPS Bus Riders

As LPS prepares for traditional face-to-face classroom learning this fall, safely transporting our students to and from school will likely look different, as we will be operating under requirements set forth by the Clay County Public Health Center and district health and safety policies.  Operating under the new requirements referenced above will make it critical that we receive a completed Opt-In Form for all LPS students who will need to rely on bus transportation during the 2020-2021 school year.  This opt-in form only takes a few minutes to complete and can be accessed by clicking here.  Please know that if your child(ren) does not have a completed opt-in form, they will not be routed for a school bus in the 2020-2021 school year.  Depending on the demand, LPS may deem it necessary to extend the Parent Responsibility Zone beyond the current one-mile minimum of student(s) residence from school.  At this time, LPS asks families (able to do so) to consider personally transporting your child to and from school until restrictions are relaxed.  Later this summer, our transportation department will be providing additional health and safety protocols for students and families to ensure a safe and healthy experience while riding the school bus.
