Dr. Precious Kurth Named New LNHS Principal

At the regular Board of Education meeting held Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the Board approved the hiring of Dr. Precious Kurth to serve as the principal of Liberty North High School.
Dr. Kurth is no stranger to Liberty North High School, serving as an assistant principal at the school since 2015.  She brings with her a total of 19 years invested in public education, 14 of those years serving as an administrator.  Her career began as a special education and English Language Arts teacher in Cameron, MO.  She would then transition to her alma mater, Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, MO, to serve as a teacher and coach.  Prior to coming to LPS, she was the principal at Robidoux Middle School in St. Joseph.
"We are excited for Dr. Kurth and confident she will continue to build on the tremendous momentum at LNHS," said LPS Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Tucker.  "I know that she is also extremely excited to transition into this role and understands the high expectations that have been set for the Eagles."
Dr. Kurth received her undergraduate degree from Missouri Western State University, her master's degree from Northwest Missouri State University, and her doctorate from Baker University.
She will officially transition into her new role as lead principal on July 1, 2019.  She replaces Dr. Martin Jacobs, who announced his retirement, effective at the conclusion of the 2018-2019 school year.
