New Liberty North High School Athletic Director Named

Lane Green Liberty Public Schools Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Lane Green to serve as the next athletic director of Liberty North High School.  The appointment was made at the Tuesday, April 7 Board study session.  
 
Green comes to LPS from the Blue Valley School District, where he most recently served as District Director of Athletics and Activities since 2014.  Prior to his time in Blue Valley, he served in a variety of roles in the Olathe School District, including District Director of Athletics and Activities, assistant principal, and as the athletic director at Olathe North High School.
 
Green received his Bachelor's degree in News Editorial/Public Relations from the University of Kansas, Certification in Secondary Education from Avila College, Master of Arts in Education from the University of St. Mary, and Certification in School Leadership from Baker University.
 
“I am excited about joining the team at Liberty North High School and becoming a part of the Eagles family," Green said.  "I look forward to getting to know the students, teachers, coaches, administrators, and all stakeholders who make Liberty North an exceptional school community.”
 
Green will replace Bob Kernell, who announced his retirement from Liberty Public Schools earlier this year.  He will assume his new role on July 1, 2020.
