LNHS, LHS Dominate at Blue Star Awards

Both Liberty North High School and Liberty High School were well represented at the annual Blue Star awards held at Starlight Theatre. 

The award ceremony recognizes outstanding musical theater performances from high schools across the Kansas City area. 

Liberty High School's "Oklahoma!" and Liberty North High School's "Mamma Mia!" both received several award nominations. 

Students not only receive the opportunity to be recognized for their work, but can be awarded scholarships and move on to national competitions. 

Liberty High School

Junior Andrew Hand won Outstanding Actor in a Featured Role for his role as Andrew Carnes in "Oklahoma!"

Junior Grace Fisher won a performance scholarship. 

Liberty North High School

LNHS won Outstanding Scenic Design and Construction, Tier II.

The LNHS lighting crew won Outstanding Technical Crew. 

Senior MJ Cullum won Outstanding Actor in an Ensemble Role. 

Senior Ava Wolesky won a performance scholarship.

LNHS won Outstanding Ensemble.

LNHS won Outstanding Lighting Design. 

Senior Ava Wolesky won Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Rosie in "Mamma Mia!"

Senior Georgia Barge won Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role for her role as Donna Sheridan in "Mamma Mia!" She will go on to compete in the national Jimmy Awards in New York.

LNHS won Outstanding Overall Production.
