LHS Sapphires Bring Home 12th State Championship
On February 25, 2023, the Liberty High School Sapphire dance team won the Division 6 Missouri State Championship. This is the 12th state championship title in the past 15 years for the Liberty Sapphire program. With a combined total score from their first place lyrical jazz and pom routines, the Sapphires secured the state title. The team was humbled and honored to receive two perfect scores for their pom routine from various state judges.
Along with their state honors, the Sapphires also walked away with the UDA National Runner-up Title in medium varsity pom at the 2023 NDTC. The UDA National Championship event hosts 365 teams across 33 states and the Sapphires earned THREE top three finishes at the national level against teams who hold 10-28 national championship titles. The Sapphires have only been competing at UDA Nationals for 10 years and have secured 3 national titles, 4 national runner-up titles and 10 top three finishes.
Congratulations to the Liberty Sapphires on a successful 2022-23 season!
