Inclement Weather Days/Flexible Learning Day Information

LPS Families,
As you know, winter weather has caused some disruptions to our LPS academic calendar.  With more winter weather predicted for this week, we wanted to share with you some reminders as to how remaining days would be made up, if necessary.  If another inclement weather day would occur, it would be made up on Friday, May 22, 2020.  If any additional inclement weather days would occur beyond that, we would implement our Flexible Learning Day plan.

As referenced above, if LPS would miss five or more days, these days will be considered Flexible Learning Days.  Students and/or families would receive an email from their respective principal and/or teacher that would provide information on classwork/projects/activities to be completed from home on these days.  Additional information regarding the Flexible Learning Days can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions document, which can be accessed by clicking here.  Below, you will find a document with specifics for your level.

An important piece of information to know is that any Flexible Learning Day would not need to be made up at the end of the school year; thus, Friday, May 22, 2020, would be the latest day LPS would be in session this school year.  Feedback received in recent years is that our families would prefer to have the regular school year end prior to the Memorial Day holiday.  The inclement weather make-up plan provided above allows for this preference to occur.
Finally, as a reminder, dates selected as make-up days for the LPS 2019-2020 academic calendar are as follows:
*1st day missed will be made up on Monday, February 17, 2020
*2nd day missed will be made up on Friday, April 10, 2020
*3rd day missed will be made up on Thursday, May 21, 2020
*4th day missed will be made up on Friday, May 22, 2020

**In addition, due to the Kansas City Chiefs Parade/Celebration, LPS identified Friday, February 14, 2020 as a Non-Inclement Weather Make-up Day.**
